About MOPS and MOMSnext
MOPS stands for Mothers of Preschoolers (birth through kindergarten). Our group also includes MOMSnext for Mothers of elementary age children.
Parenting is a difficult and lonely job. It makes a world of difference to have other friends for support. Dayspring’s MOPS group is a place where both stay-at-home and working moms are encouraging one another and growing together through the ups and downs of parenthood.
Our MOPS group meets throughout the school year on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month from 9:30am to 11:30am. They also have playdates on the 1st Tuesday of the month year-long. Our MOMSnext groups meets two Sunday nights per month, concurrent with Dayspring’s Youth, Manna, and Young Children’s programs, from 5:30-7 p.m.
One meeting a month there is a structured conversation about our lives. There may be a speaker or viedo that help us to discuss various topics, such as: dealing with stress, disciplinary issues, facing our “mom fears.”
The other meeting each month is an open project day. Some mom’s work on a craft, or organize photos. Others simply bring their pile of bills or office work that needs to be done. You can bring whatever kind of “project” you have, and simply enjoy the friendships of other moms.
About MOPS Childcare
While moms are meeting, our little ones are being cared for and taught by loving adults. They enjoy snack time, play time, and a prepared curriculum.
