A Revolutionary Spirit

By Kate Hanch

A sermon on Acts 17:16-31

If we use the book of Acts as a book about a revolutionary spirit of God, what does it mean that everything in the world is touched by (the spirit of ) God?  The beauty in that concept is that the spirit of God opens a common school for all.  It can include the scriptures, a creation story, but it can even include anything else that was created by God, including the heavens (astronomy) and philosophy.  "We are made of dust and bones, and yet you are also made of something called spirit. You are crammed full of a divine breath of life itself. You are an exotic cocktail of dust and soul, bone and spirit.”  ~Rob Bell.
